The Beduins.
This is Mona. She’s a 7 year old beduin girl from the outskirts of Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt. Even though the Egyptian government built 4 new schools for beduin children in the area, she has never been there. As a matter of fact, all of the beduin schools are empty. It’s tradition that the kids help supporting the family by selling handicrafts, and the family fathers are holding on to this tradition.
Despite that she’s still pretty much fluent in English, Russian and Italian. At the age of 7. Just from listening to the tourists. Pretty cool eh?
In an hour I’m boarding the flight to Aqaba, Jordan. A visit to Petra, aerial footage over the Wadi Rum desert & a lot of history is on the schedule. With me is my new baby, the Fuji X100!
Stay tuned!
